Reproduction in Flowering Plants

General purpose of this lecture is to present on Reproduction in Flowering Plants. Here briefly describe on Sexual reproductive structure; Produces egg and sperm and explain how fertilization takes place inside the flower. The plant life cycle has mitosis occurring in spores, produced by meiosis, that germinate into the gametophyte phase. Gametophyte size ranges from three cells to several million (in a “lower plant” such as moss). When a pollen grain lands on the stigma, it germinates and a pollen tube grows down through the style to an ovule (egg).
