general objective of this lecture is to present on Transport of Materials. Here briefly describe on need for transport systems. Plants need sugars and water to stay alive. Water needs to travel from the roots to the leaves. Sugars need to travel from the leaves to the rest of the plant. Water potential is the tendency of water to move from an area of higher concentration to one of lower concentration. Energy exists in two forms: potential and kinetic. Finally focus on Phloem and Stomata in terms of Transport of Materials.
