From theoretical physics, the method of Molecular dynamics gained popularity inside materials science and considering that the 1970s also in biophysics. Molecular dynamics is a computer simulation way for studying the real movements of atoms and molecules, and thus a form of N-body simulation. The atoms and molecules are permitted to interact for a fixed time period, giving a view with the dynamical evolution with the system.
