In general, ethanol fuel is usually less toxic and has higher energy occurrence, although methanol is less costly to produce sustainably and is a more affordable way to reduce the carbon footprint. Nevertheless, for optimizing engine performance, fuel availableness, toxicity and political advantage, a blend of ethanol, methanol and petroleum will probably be preferable to using some of these individual substances by itself.
