Exothermic Process

Exothermic Process

In thermodynamics, the term exothermic process describes a process or reaction which releases energy in the system, usually as heat, but also in a kind of light, electricity, or even sound. The term exothermic was first coined by Marcellin Berthelot. The other of an exothermic process is usually an endothermic process, one that absorbs energy as heat. Endothermic reaction, energy is taken from the surroundings in the course of the reaction.
