Dendrocollybia is really a fungal genus inside family Tricholomataceae on the order Agaricales. This is a monotypic genus, that contains the single kinds Dendrocollybia racemosa, typically referred to as the branched Collybia or perhaps the branched shanklet. It usually grows on the decaying fruit body of other agarics such as Lactarius and Russula although host mushrooms could be decayed to the point of being difficult to recognize.
