The related terms chronomics and chronome have been used in some cases to explain either the molecular mechanisms concerned in chronobiological phenomena or the further quantitative aspects of chronobiology, mainly where assessment of cycles between organisms is necessary. Chronobiology is a field of biology that examines sporadic phenomena in living organisms and their alteration to solar and lunar related rhythms. These cycles are known as biological rhythms.
