A phylogenetic tree or evolutionary tree is really a branching diagram or “tree” showing the inferred evolutionary human relationships among various scientific species or various other entities—their phylogeny—based about similarities and differences in their physical or genetic characteristics. The taxa joined together from the tree are implied to have descended from a standard ancestor.
