The Environment

The environment consists of the air, water, and land in which people, animals, and plants live. All the things that make up the environment are interrelated. If this relation is disturbed in any way, the total environment changes and thus creates a negative impact on all. Now the main elements such as air, water, soil, etc. are getting polluted by people’s unwise activities and thus the world is gradually getting uninhabitable. People seldom find absolutely natural environments on Earth, and naturalness usually varies in a continuum, from 100% natural in one extreme to 0% natural in the other. Water, one of the most important elements of the environment, is getting polluted by different waste materials. Air, another vital element of the environment, is getting polluted by the huge emission of carbon dioxide from increasing mills, factories and vehicles. As a result, the world temperature is increasing day by day and the sea level is rising up. Thus, the lower parts of the world may be flooded. Natural calamities such as flood, cyclone, storm, etc. are the products of this temperature rise in the world which is called the greenhouse effect. Moreover, owing to these pollutions, millions of people all over the world die unnecessarily. To protect the environment, strict steps should be taken up. With this end in view at first, the people of the world have to be made conscious of these things. Deforestation which is harmful to the environment must be stopped. Tree plantation should be carried on all over the world. At the same time, population control is a must because overpopulation creates overpressure on nature and thus spoils it. In some cultures, the term environment is meaningless because there is no separation between people and what they view as the natural world, or their surroundings.
