Landfill gas is different thing as “natural gas” or even “methane.” They are three separate conditions which mean various things. They should not be used interchangeably. Landfill gas is a complex mix associated with different gases developed by the action of microorganisms inside a landfill. Landfill gas will be approximately forty to 60 % methane, with what’s left being mostly carbon dioxide.
