The aim of this lecture is to present on What is a Generator? Generator is a machine that changes mechanical energy to electrical energy. Usually use moving magnets to create currents in coils of wire. There are two types of generators, one is ac generator and other is DC generator. The operation of electric generators is based on the process called electromagnetic induction: whenever a conductor moves relative to a magnetic field, electromotive force (emf) is induced in this conductor.
