Forensic psychiatry is a sub-speciality of psychiatry and relates to criminology. It involves the interface concerning law and psychiatry. A forensic psychiatrist provides services – including determination of competency to stand trial – to court of rules to facilitate the actual adjudicative process and provide treatment like prescription drugs and psychotherapy to criminals.
