A devastating fire broke out at midnight yesterday at (Area name)…. under (District name)…….. district. It gutted 15 shops completely.
According to local sources, the fire originated from an electric short circuit in a shop. It swiftly engulfed the other adjoining shops. Hearing hue and cry of the people living near the spot, people from the whole area rushed to the spot with buckets, gunny sacks, etc. to put out the fire. But the severity of the fire was so high that they failed to extinguish it. Later, fire brigade from (Fire Station Name)………… rushed to the spot and after making tremendous efforts for 5 hours managed to extinguish the fire with the help of the people. But, by that time, all the 15 shops burnt into ashes
Some people were injured while trying to control the fire. Total loss of property’ and goods is estimated to be nearly ten crores taka. The DC of (District name)….. and other govt. officials have already visited the spot. They consoled the victims of five and assured to provide all possible assistance from the govt. side.
