Virgin Galactic will start its first passenger journey into space tomorrow morning and you can see the whole thing here. The launch is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Pacific, with streaming festivities (including Stephen Colbert’s commentary) beginning the hour. The launch is the 22nd VSS Unity spacecraft to leave the Virgin Galactic atmosphere. As before, Unity will connect the spaceport to the belly of the VMS Eve, which will take it out of the densest part of the atmosphere.
Unity Katy will drop its rocket engine and reach the speed of the Mac 3 until it reaches a peak of 80 km, it will be considered as space at the lowest altitude. Pilots and passengers will enjoy short-term weightlessness and of course stunning views when the engines are turned off. The whole thing will be displayed directly from the craft, from the ground, and from allowing the connection. When they return safely there will be a winning press conference and noticeably Khalid will have live music.
Richard Branson finally flew into space on Sunday. It has been a long wait for Mr. Branson, a 70-year-old British billionaire leading the galaxy of virgin companies. In 2004, he founded Virgin Galactic to provide adventure travelers with space and rear-end rocket-powered aircraft.
This time, he thinks commercial service will start in two to three years. Instead, about 17 years have passed. Virgin Galactic says it has three more test flights to fly on Sunday before passengers are ready to pay. For this aircraft, Mr. Branson’s crew member is tasked with evaluating the cabin experience for future customers. The flight took off at about 10:40 a.m. Sunday after the vehicles took Mr. Branson and his crumate to the plane, about 180 miles south of Albuquerque, just east of Spaceport America in New Mexico. The spacecraft detached from the carrier at around 11:25 a.m. and ignited the engine for about 60 seconds, taking Mr. Branson and Crew into space. Video footage from the live stream showed him and the crew experiencing weightlessness.
