Basic objective of this lecture is to present on variation and monohybrid cross. A monohybrid cross is the study of the inheritance of one characteristic. Monohybrid Cross is cross between true-breeding parents with different alleles of the same gene. Here briefly discuss on Independent assortment of chromosomes: Homologous pairs line up at equator during first meiotic division; Final position of any one pair is random relative to any other and Second meiotic division brings about independent assortment of chromosomes.
