On a hot day, a hungry fox came out of his den in search of food. He saw a cock sitting on the branch of a tree. He said to himself that he must have it in his lunch. Then the fox looked up at the cock and said. “Friend have you heard any good news?” The cock said, “What is the news?” The cunning fox replied, “All the birds and animals have decided to become friends. We are no longer enemies.
So you may get down and shake your hands with me.” The fox thought that the cock would not realize his motive. But the cock was very clever. He understood the fox’s evil design and decided to make him frightened. The cock said that ‘he was very glad to hear that news but he had to invite the dogs to come when he would come down to shake hands.’ The fox became very frightened at the utterance of dogs and ran away very fast.
Moral of the story: ‘The trickster is easily tricked.’
