Thank you all for taking out time and being present at this seminar session. Today, I ……(name) stand in front of you all to address a very important topic; I would like to speech on the topic of “Girl Education”.
We’ve gathered here today to share our perspectives on girls’ education and the future of our country. One thing that we all agree on is that girls should be sent to school. They should receive the same quality of education as our boys who attend schools and technical institutions. Girls from families that believe that girls are a burden that they must transfer to the groom’s and his family’s shoulders The majority of girls encounter a mentality in which they are seen as a commodity and a soul created to perform the tasks that others delegate to them.
When we talk about girls, we’re talking about half of the population, people who are talented, strong, resourceful, and energetic, albeit untapped. Equal in every way to the other half, whom we refer to as boys. Girls are the bearers of all positivity in society, since they are a part of humanity. Girls are those who exude poise, decency, and pleasantness when they enter a room. They bring out the best of men when they are around them. Consider this location in the context of a space occupied solely by boys.
Many of us may have never heard of Washington Irving, a popular author. But what he says is truly fascinating. He says “The best Academy is a mother’s knee”. Do you all agree to it? I do. All my lessons, whether at school, or in the playground, or even at my hobby center, just all of them are reinforced, coated with all the morals & virtues that it makes a holistic sense and teaches me by my instinct what is correct way of doing something and what is not. Who makes it possible? My mother.
Every child, whether a boy or a girl, requires education. It aids a person’s ability to learn new things and learn about the world’s reality. The preservation of women’s rights is aided by education. It also aids in the prevention of gender inequality. Their success at work improves as a result of their education. A well-educated woman has the skills, knowledge, talent, and self-assurance to be a better mother, employee, and citizen of the country. Women make up almost half of our population. Men and women are two sides of the same coin. As a result, they need equal opportunities to contribute to the country’s growth. Both of them would perish if they didn’t have each other.
A solid base is essential for the construction of a strong structure. Similarly, a strong nation is formed when all of its people are well-educated, informed participants. And if we prevent half of our people from pursuing their personal goals, we have already begun to sabotage our nation’s progress. If a girl grows up to work full-time, part-time, or as a stay-at-home maker, she would be able to perform to her full potential if she has received a good education.
As a result, every girl should attend school, college, and university. Obtaining a higher education. It is the source of our grief. Some people believe that educating girls is pointless and ineffective. However, this notion is incorrect in literature. About twenty to thirty years ago. Those who sent their daughters to school were mocked by others. They believed it to be outside of our country’s culture. They felt secure, but it was risky and difficult to send their daughters out of the house. In those days, girls and women were free to do whatever they pleased. The most lavish and expensive of all costs is squandering time. The best of friends is a good book. Schools, colleges, and universities teach discipline, bravery, patience, trust, purification, and humanity.
Our minds become cleaner as a result of education. Thinking wisely, organizing wisely, and acting wisely are the wisest things you can do. If they enjoy reading and writing, girls and women will never be wise. Only a higher education will provide you with all of the attributes mentioned above. I’m not implying that the young man is inept. Many activities are completed by boys, but they are not doing so alone. Their counterparts are also vital members of society. If you keep them at home, you’re stopping half of the country from studying and being a productive member of society. Furthermore, you are isolating them from all of their accomplishments and from the elements that make up their education in order for them to achieve their goal.
The word “education” refers to more than just books and schools/colleges. We can see how girls and women contribute in every area in which they serve. All we have to do is encourage them to spread their wings and fly away from our home. We need to get rid of our old ways of thought. Nowadays, we need to trust that we can depend on them. It’s depressing that some communities continue to discriminate against girls’ education. Education is a critical component of a girl’s empowerment, growth, progress, and well-being. Inequality and responsibility of girls persist in all sectors of the economy, education, social, political, health care, nutrition, rights and legality, and so on.
A well-educated young lady understands the value of attending school. She can understand how important it is for those in and around her to be exposed to this wonderful world filled with compassion, imagination, innovation, science, art, music, dance, and so many other values that we instill in ourselves while we attend school. It becomes so ingrained in one’s life that one cannot help but profit. A well-educated girl would be able to contribute positively to the development of strong character, not only in herself but also in those around her. If her mother has never attended a school, she should go ahead and teach her. Her younger siblings stand to gain from her presence.
132 million girls are out of school across the world, with 34.3 million in primary school, 30 million in lower secondary school, and 67.4 million in upper secondary school. Girls in conflict-affected countries are more than twice as likely to drop out than girls in non-affected countries. In primary education, only 66% of countries have reached gender parity. The gender divide widens at the secondary level, with 45 percent of countries achieving gender parity in lower secondary education and 25% in upper secondary education.
There are several explanations for this. Poverty, child marriage, and gender-based violence are all barriers to girls’ education that differ by country and community. When it comes to schooling, poor families frequently prefer boys. In some areas, schools fail to meet the needs of girls in terms of safety, hygiene, and sanitation. In others, teaching activities are not gender-responsive, resulting in learning and ability growth differences between men and women.
Girls nowadays attend schools and colleges in large numbers because it is a place of pleasure. They have no reservations about attending their classes. Girls must believe that this is the place where we will develop as individuals. Girls are courageous, smart, and brave. Girls are superior to men, which is why their names come first. No one may deceive, harass, or threaten someone on their way to or from school or college. Girls are courageous, smart, and strong. The government is working hard to educate every girl in every household. The government is assisting them in obtaining higher education and ensuring their protection.
Finally, I’d like to emphasize the importance of parents educating their daughters about the values and benefits of education. Since women are the first teachers of their children, girls’ education is critical for the country’s future. It is true that nowadays, girls will educate themselves while remaining at home. Technology plays an important role in this. Women who are illiterate are unable to contribute to family management and are unable to care for their children. This is not only the government’s duty, but also the responsibility of the citizens in our immediate vicinity.
Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan is a well-known person not only in Pakistan and Asia, but throughout the world. She was one of the few girls who stood firm in the face of a few gun-wielding individuals. Everything she tried to do was stand up for what she believed to be true: that every human being, regardless of gender, has the right to an education. They opened fire on her. They attempted to assassinate her. But she lived, not just to share her story, but also to remind us of the importance of speaking out against those who want to prevent girls from learning, those who believe that girls should be limited and that they should not have the right to do what they want.
There is a lot being done, but there is still a lot more to be done. Educating the girl child is a journey that will lead us to a more productive society and nation. In Michelle Obama’s words, “No country can truly flourish if it strifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half of its citizens”.
