The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2021 Finalists are Hilarious as Ever

Nature can be stunning, awe-inspiring, and majestic, but it can also be absurd at times. The finalists for the 2021 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards have been announced by the always wonderful Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards.

Photobombing polar bears, dreadfully irritated birds, and a very dorky dragonfly are among the amusing characters from the natural world featured in the final 42 photographs. A front-flipping swan and grumbling waterbirds are featured in a video category.

They’re also opening up voting for the People’s Choice Award, which allows you to vote for your favorite amusing photo. The public can vote online at comedywildlifephoto.com through October 12th, 2021, for a chance to win an iPad. Keep your eyes peeled for the winners, who will be announced on October 22.

“This year, we were blown away by the amount and quality of entries we got, with well over 7,000 images submitted from all corners of the globe. In a statement, Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE, Co-Founder of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, said, “It was an outstanding turnout, especially given the impact of the pandemic.”

“The large number of photographs we receive each year demonstrates the public’s desire to participate in conservation efforts and reminds us that nature is genuinely magnificent and humorous, and we must do everything we can to protect it,” Joynson added.

Below is a selection of the best photos. The finalists from the previous year’s competition may be seen here for more meme-worthy animals.

“Vine snakes are relatively frequent snakes in India’s western ghats. They display hostility by extending their mouth wide open when confronted. There’s nothing to fear about this lovely harmless Vine snake. I was overjoyed to find it and smiled, and it appeared that he smiled back.

On October 22nd, the overall and category winners will be announced, with the overall winner receiving a one-week Kenyan safari as well as a handcrafted trophy.
