The Air We Breathe
Almost all life on earth depends upon clean to function and survive. The air we breathe is a mixture of many gases, of which oxygen is the most important. If we were not able to breathe this precious air for even a few minutes, we would die. Thus air is vital to us. However, when the air we breathe in becomes polluted, we to become polluted. Polluted with harmful toxins, germs, viruses, etc. Some natural pollutants like pollen, dust, soil particles, natural gases, etc are also the source of air pollution. There are two types of air pollution sources which are natural sources and man-made sources. Man-made sources of air pollution are industries, agriculture, power plants, automobiles, domestic sources, etc.
Air is vital too to the plants and animals that live on earth. Everybody has to breathe, and when air isn’t clean you health is affected. We are all surrounded by air. Our bodies live and move in it. Thus it is important that the air remains clean and pure. You might think that you are healthy because you eat, and do only healthy things, so you cannot be sick, or get cancer, allergies or even die. Everybody is affected by air pollution. Gaseous wastes are produced by combustion and industrial processes. The six major toxins released into the air are; ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, and lead. Toxic gases are the cause of many global problems, such as acid rain or acid deposition and global climate change. The polluted air we breathe every moment causing lungs disorders and even lung cancer thus affecting the health of other body organs.
Alas, modern man has polluted the air. Due to increasing industrialization and concentration of poisonous gases in the environment, the air is getting more and more toxic day by day. By constantly emitting poisonous gas and fumes into the air from his factories and other devices, man is threatening his very own survival. The air we breathe now is filled with unnecessary and harmful pollutants. If this is allowed to increase then one day we may not have any more clean air to breathe. Moreover, the rapidly increasing human activities like the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation is the major cause of air pollution. However, there is still hope if society can become properly educated about air pollution. The ever increasing level of air pollution also enhances its negative and harmful effects on the health of living beings.
The choice is ours. Stop polluting the air and we live. Keep polluting the air and we all perish. We should not cut trees, use public transportation, avoid spray cans, and so many activities in the favor to reduce the effects of air pollution.
