Subject: Advice for Avoiding Relocation for a New Job

Dear (Sir or Madam),

I hope this letter finds you and your family in the best of health and spirits. (Describe in your words). It has been really a long time since we met up and chatted about our school and college days.

I received your letter the other day telling me about the new job offer that you have got. (Describe all about the situation). At the face of it, the offer looks tempting, both financially and profile-wise. (Express your reasons). It will also be a great jump even designation-wise for you from the job you are in today. (Explain your advices). But if you want to bring forth your personal life, I would advise that you stay on with your current job a little longer.

I have reasons for saying this, and they are:

  • Your children are well settled in the best school in town
  • The kids are at a very crucial age regarding their schooling
  • You have a beautiful company accommodation in one of the best colonies here
  • Your wife also has a good job wherein she is comfortably able to strike a balance between work and home
  • Relocation would mean giving up all these comforts, leave alone the fact that your friend circle too will go through a change.

I would advise that you stay on here a little longer, let the kids finish their schooling and settle in the course of their choice and then you can move once they go to college by themselves. (Describe your recommendations). Having said that, if you still decide to take on the new job, I am always there to support you. (Cordially describe your greetings). Take care and keep me posted with your decision.

Love

Yours truly,

Dear (Sir or Madam),

I would like to seek your advice about me joining a company in (What is the Job Location). (Describe in your words).

I feel this is a good opportunity to work for my career growth but I’m still confused as shifting to another location is always risky. (Describe all about the situation). I have a settled job and my family here, so a bit uncertain regarding settling down with my family and my kid’s education in the new place. (Express your reasons).

Please advise me if it is the right decision to move with family now or should I move alone. (Explain your advice). Please help me take this significant decision of my life. (Describe your recommendations). You are one person whom I can rely on for a perfect decision.

I am also attaching a copy of the appointment letter with (What is the Name of the Company) for you to have a fair judgment of the company. (Cordially describe your greetings).
