Psychoneuroimmunology is a field of physiology and medicine, that deals with the influence of emotional states (as stress) and nervous system activities on immune function especially in relation to the onset and progression of disease. It is looking for the exact mechanisms by which specific brainimmunity effects are achieved. it also takes an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating psychology, neuroscience, immunology, physiology, genetics, pharmacology, molecular biology, psychiatry, behavioral medicine, infectious diseases, endocrinology, and rheumatology.
