Prehistoric music is studied together with other periods inside of music archaeology. Prehistoric music is followed by ancient music in different parts of the world, but still exists in isolated areas. However, it is more common to refer to the “prehistoric” tunes which still survives while folk, indigenous or perhaps traditional music. Prehistoric music is a term in a history of music for those music produced throughout preliterate cultures, beginning somewhere in late geological history.
