Postsecularism refers to a variety of theories regarding this persistence or resurgence of religious beliefs or practices in the present. The “post-” may reference after the end of secularism or after the start of secularism. Modern societies which have considered themselves completely secular until recently need to change their benefit systems accordingly regarding properly accommodate that co-existence.
