The central political tenet associated with ethnic nationalism is that ethnic groups may be identified unambiguously, understanding that each such group is allowed self-determination. Ethnic nationalism is a type of nationalism wherein “nation” is defined regarding ethnicity. The central design of ethnic nationalists is that “nations are defined by a shared heritage, which in turn includes a widespread language, a widespread faith and one common ethnic ancestry”.
