Pathophysiology is a convergence of pathology together with physiology. Pathology is the medical discipline of which describes conditions typically observed during a disease state, whereas physiology is the biological discipline of which describes processes or perhaps mechanisms operating within an organism. Pathology identifies the abnormal or perhaps undesired condition, whereupon pathophysiology seeks to describe the physiological procedures or mechanisms where such condition grows and progresses.
