A fountain pen is an instrument which is used for writing purpose. Now a day a fountain pen is an essential article of the educated men of all ages. Today, if someone needs to write something, it is quite easy to do so. Students and educated men cannot do a single moment without a fountain pen. It has earned much popularity. The fountain pen was the first pen to hold it’s own ink and was revolutionary to everybody, as people no longer had to carry inkwells around if they wanted to write. Today, the fountain pen might seem obscure and irrelevant, but it completely revolutionized how people wrote. It has two parts- the main body and the cap. The main body holds the nib. It is hollow inside and holds ink in its hollow body. Again there is a rubber tube in the hollow bodies of some fountain pens. This rubber tube contains ink. The cap has a clip attached to its end. It protects the nib from the clip one holds a fountain pen on the edge of his pocket. The fountain pens are of different colors, shapes, and sizes. However, ballpoint pens have almost driven out fountain pens. The reason is that ballpoint pens have not to be frequently refilled with ink. Some time ago, ballpoint pen with changeable refills where common. Now one-time ballpoint pens are common.
