Nuclear power plants are usually considered to be base load programs, since fuel is a small section of the cost of generation. A nuclear power plant is a thermal power station that the heat source is a nuclear reactor. As is typical in most conventional thermal power stations the warmth is used to get steam which pushes a steam turbine attached to an electric generator which produces energy.
