Lateral Thinking

Lateral Thinking

Lateral thinking is concerned with the “movement value” of statements and ideas. It is coming at a problem from a different; perhaps non-standard direction. It is the ability to use our imagination to look at a problem in a fresh way and come up with a new solution. The term (Lateral Thinking) was coined by the Maltese-born UK psychologist Dr. Edward de Bono in his 1970 book ‘Lateral Thinking.’ It tries to bypass them through a radically different approach. It can also be assessed using psychometric tests.
