Fund accounting is a system of data processing used primarily simply by non-profit or government organizations. For these and other similar organizations, it is more important so they can keep a record of how their particular money was used, rather than how it had been earned, unlike corporations. Their accounting records take the design of an accumulation funds, each fund creating a distinct purpose, ranging from operating expenses to funding different activities of the corporation.
