Federal Reserve System is the central bank of the united states. The Fed, since it is commonly referred to as, regulates the Oughout. S. monetary and economic climate. The Federal Reserve System consists of a central governmental company in Washington, D. C. and twelve local Federal Reserve Financial institutions in major cities throughout the united states. The primary inspiration for creating the Federal Reserve System was to cope with banking panics.
