It is a broadly described annual report of Meghna Petroleum Limited in the year of 2017. In 2016-2017 MPL has contributed Taka. 228.39 Crore to the National Exchequer. During the financial year, The Company’s turnover increased by 15.74% of Tk. 154.57 Crores in 2016-2017 which was Tk. 142.03 Crores in 2015-2016. The Company has earned the profit before tax of Tk. 313.08 Crores in the year 2016-2017 which was Tk. 264.19 Crores in 2015-2016. Profit after tax increased to Tk. 219.48Ccrores in the year 2016-2017 from Tk. 185.02 Crores in the year 2015-2016.
The Board of Directors has recommended high rate of dividend i.e. @110% cash dividend for this year. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency. All financial information presented in Taka has been rounded off to the nearest Taka.
