A wave is a disturbance that transfers energy. Medium – Substance or region through which a wave is transmitted. Speed of Waves – Depends on the properties of the medium. Main purpose of this lecture is to focus on Waves: Sound and Light. Sound waves are often simplified to a description in terms of sinusoidal plane waves, which are characterized by these generic properties:Frequency, Amplitude, Speed of sound and Direction. In Waves Light sense, gamma rays, X-rays, microwaves and radio waves are also light.
