The value of time in our lives and in this world knows no bound. Time has started its march from the very beginning of the creation of the world. This very ancient march has no end. But we have been sent to this world for a very short time. Time is more than money as money spent can be earned again however once time spent can never be earned. So, we have to make our life successful and meaningful by using time properly. There is a true saying that “If we ruin the time, it ruins us and our life”. If we can utilize our time properly then our life is successful.
Time never stays for anybody. Time is very strong and powerful than everything in this world. It just gives on and on. The popular saying goes – “Time and tide wait for none”. Time once lost is lost forever. Lost health, wealth, etc. may be regained, but lost time never conies back. A boy unmindful to his lessons will surely find that he has lost the opportunity to make himself learned. That is why there is wise advice – “Take time by the forelock” meaning – Utilize time in time.
Every moment of our life is very precious. Our success depends on the best use of these moments. For this, we must be dutiful, sincere and hardworking. We must make a proper division of our time and do our duties properly. Only then we will be able to go forward and reach our goal. But if we do not utilize time, our life becomes miserable. Time is like a running river which goes constantly ahead but it never runs back. They lead an unhappy life and suffer in the long run.
Many people waste time in gossiping, strolling aimlessly with idle companions, reading worthless books or in other useless occupations. These people; when in crisis in some stages of life look back to the gone days. But they repent about the sheer waste of time. They realize that lost time can never come back. But great men and women of the world make the use of time in their best possible way. They know how precious time is.
History provides many examples of the importance of time. When we say “A stitch in time saves nine”, we mean the same thing. A work done in time is time earned. One of Napoleon’s Generals was a few minutes late on Waterloo’s battlefield. As a result, Napoleon had to face a terrible defeat. On the other hand, Robert Bruce, Abraham Lincoln, Einstein, Aristotle, and such other great persons led their lives to the top of success making the best use of time.
We are the best creation of Allah. We owe to Him because The Almighty God has also provided a limited time for our life. He has sent us to this beautiful earth. To pay off our debt to some extent, we must make proper use of time. Because anything good can be done or achieved only by making the best use of time. We should learn from the mistakes of others as well as should inspire from the success of others. The most prosperous nations are those that make the best use of time.
