“Studying smart” is a phrase often used by students, parents, and teachers to mean “studying in an intelligent and effective way”. The main aim of education isn’t to get straight A’s. But learning how to learn is a vital life skill.

Some students try to memorize everything they read without trying to understand. So the first thing about studying smart is to pay the fullest attention when a lesson is first being taught in class. Your learning will be quick and effective. There is a huge difference between studying hard and studying smart. Studying hard is time-consuming and stressful, whereas studying smart reduces stress, is efficient and produces optimal results.
Furthermore, being up to date with your school work means you do not have to take private tuition on any subject. this saves money and you will have time for leisure or recreation. As you are studying and reading course material, don’t just memorize the information. Breaks are important during the study session because it helps you to retain information better.
Revision books and guides are aplenty these days. Use them with care. Having more than one revision book per subject is a waste of money. Create outlines, timelines, charts, graphs, and flashcards from your lecture notes and reading materials. Also learning from too many books only serves to confuse you and take up precious time.
Finally, know the format of the examinations and practice the previous years’ questions to familiarize yourself with them. Modify your routine to include these strategies in order to be more productive in your studies and schoolwork. When the actual examinations come, you will know how to handle the questions.
