Resistance is the opposition to the flow of an electric current, producing heat. The greater the resistance, the less current gets through. Good conductors have low resistance. Measured in ohms; sometimes written out as a word, and sometimes symbolized by the uppercase Greek letter omega: Ω. In this lecture briefly focus on what influences resistance. The electrical resistance per unit length, area, or volume of a substance is known as resistivity.
