Pulse Detonation Engine

Pulse Detonation Engine

Principle operation of the Pulse Detonation Engine is that of the pulse jet engine. In the beat jet, air is mixed with fuel to generate a flammable mixture that may be then ignited in a open chamber. The resulting combustion greatly boosts the pressure of mixture to somewhere around 100 atmospheres (10 MPa), which then expands through a nozzle for forced. A pulse detonation engine is a type of propulsion system that uses detonation waves to combust the fuel and oxidizer mixture.
