Psycholinguistics is the study of the mental faculties involved in the perception, production, and acquisition of language. It is an interdisciplinary field. It is primarily concerned with the ways in which language is represented and processed in the brain. It focused on button press tasks and reaction time experiments from which cognitive processes are being inferred. It is concerned with the nature of the computations and processes that the brain undergoes to comprehend and produce language.
