Basic purpose of this lecture is to present on Plant Diversity; here briefly focus on the Evolution and Classification of Plants. Plants are classified based on whether or not they have: Vascular System (transport), Seeds and Flowers (enclosed seeds). Major plant characteristics are: Multicellular eukaryotes; Photosynthetic autotrophs containing chloroplasts; Cell walls made of cellulose and Responds to environment and grows through the use of hormones.
