Organs that can be transplanted are the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas, intestine and thymus. Organ transplantation is the moving of an organ in one body to another or from a donor site to a new location on the individuals own body, to switch the recipient’s damaged or absent body. Organs and/or tissues which can be transplanted within identical person’s body are called autografts.
