Marine biology differs from marine ecology while marine ecology is targeted on how organisms interact together and the natural environment, while biology would be the study of this organisms themselves. Considering that in biology few phyla, families and genera involve some species that have a home in the sea and the like that live in land, marine biology classifies species based on environment rather compared to on taxonomy.
