Malaria is a life threatening blood disease caused by a parasite that is transmitted to humans by the Anopheles mosquito. Malaria is an avoidable and treatable illness. If malaria is diagnosed and treated early on, the period of the infection can be significantly condensed, which in turn lowers the peril of complications and death.
