A liquid crystal thermometer, temperature strip or maybe plastic strip thermometer is a form of thermometer that includes heat-sensitive (thermochromic) liquid crystals in the plastic strip that will change colour to indicate different temperatures. Liquid crystals have the mechanical properties of the liquid, but possess the optical properties of the single crystal.
