Influence Diagram involves four variable types for notation: a decision, chance, objective, and function. It closely related to decision trees and often used in conjunction with them. Influence Diagram also displays a summary of the information contained in a decision tree. It is a compact graphical and mathematical representation of a decision situation. Influence Diagram based on sequential construction of nodes and arcs, which implies a specification of all conditional independencies in the diagram.
