Hill Farming

Hill farming is intensive farming in upland locations, primarily rearing sheep, although historically cows were often reared extensively in upland locations. Fell farming will be the farming of fells, a fell being an area of uncultivated higher ground used seeing that common grazing. Anywhere else, the terms hillside farming or pastoral farming will be more commonly used.
