Health literacy is the ability to obtain, read, understand and make use of healthcare information to make appropriate health options and follow guidance for treatment. There are multiple definitions associated with health literacy, partially, because health literacy involves both the context in which often health literacy demands are designed (health care, advertising, internet etc) and also the skills that people bring to that situation.
