Goal Setting

Goal Setting

Goal Setting is a motivational technique, which based on the concept that the practice of setting specific goals enhances performance, and that setting difficult goals results in higher performance than setting easier goals. It is a major component of personal-development and management literature. Goals are usually time-sensitive, focusing on either immediate or prolonged outcomes. It is an individual process that takes many different forms. It may have the drawback of inhibiting implicit learning: goal setting may encourage simple focus on an outcome without openness to exploration, understanding, or growth.
