Basic purpose of this lecture is to describe on Derivatives of Acid Chlorides. Here briefly describe on what else can be used to convert a carboxylic acid to an acid chloride. An acyl chloride is an organic compound with the functional group -COCl. Their formula is usually written RCOCl, where R is a side chain. They are reactive derivatives of carboxylic acids. Finally explain derivatives of methanoyl chloride.
