The rise of cultural anthropology occurred from the context of this late 19th centuries, when questions regarding which cultures had been “primitive” and of “civilized” occupied this minds of not only Marx and Freud, but a great many others. Cultural anthropology is usually a branch of anthropology focused on the study of cultural variation between humans and is as opposed to social anthropology which in turn perceives cultural variation to be a subset of this anthropological constant.
