Core Inflation is a measure of inflation of which excludes certain goods that face volatile price movements. Core inflation eliminates products that can have temporary price shocks because these shocks can diverge through the overall trend of inflation and provide a false measure of inflation. Core inflation represents the future trend in the price level. In measuring end inflation, transitory price changes must be excluded.
