It is also called Association Rule Mining, which is a common technique used to find associations between many variables. It is often used by grocery stores, retailers, and anyone with a large transactional databases. In data mining, association rules are useful for analyzing and predicting customer behavior. They play an important part in shopping basket data analysis, product clustering, catalog design and store layout.
